Wishing for Spring Greens Outfit
It has been a really long January here in NYC (as I feel like it always is) – and to say that I’m ready for Spring is a serious understatement! I’m planning to shoot and share some Winter content over the next few weeks, but for this post, I wanted to do a “wishful thinking” look that breathes the energy of awakening – I took these pics back in FL and they really make me long for warmer weather.
In today’s look, I styled two pieces that I absolutely love for a monochromatic outfit – both by Phillip Lim, and both purchased on an amazing end-of-season sale. I accessorized with my tried-and-true neutrals to create a feminine, chic and elegant ensemble.
Here are the exact ingredients to this outfit formula, and how I styled it:
- Pleated Vegan Leather Skirt. I styled this Phillip Lim Faux Leather Midi Pleated Skirt in another look this past Fall (HERE) – and wanted to style it for a Spring look too. It pairs really well with blouses – like in the Fall outfit – but looks equally cute with a sweatshirt for a more dressed down combo.
- Cropped Sweatshirt. I love the mint green shade of this Phillip Lim Cropped Square Neck Sweatshirt – it’s a nice monochromatic match to the skirt. I also found a similar style in black and gray – you can shop them below. This one is on sale with only a few sizes left – a really great fit, and the neckline is very unusual and flattering!
- Neutral Bucket Bag. This Polene Numero Huit in Nude is quite versatile – I styled it with 2 other looks – HERE and HERE. I feel like it gives each outfit personality, and each time in a completely different way – adding a feminine Parisian touch to the looks.
- Shimmery Booties. My trusty laser-cut Janna booties from Italeau come to the rescue here to complete the outfit – they are a little like chameleons in taking on the color that they’re paired with; their champagne shimmer blends nicely into any look – and when put against a strong shade like green they actually take a little of the color on. I found a few similar ones online!
I hope this inspires you to try out a similar outfit for any upcoming warm-weather vacations and coming Spring/Summer, and as always, please feel free to share the outfits you create via Instagram, using hashtag #ModnitsaOutfit in your posts, and I’ll be sure repost them on my stories!
